Class Reunion

OK, what happened in the last 24? BISHOP died. I went to the Academy Winter Social. After that I went to see Lord of the Rings again. Then I got to sleep about midnight. Now it is my last day of work on my break schedule.

Lets see. Amanda cut her hair and broke up with Eric. Caroline didn't change. Nor did Alex McCauley, or Jon Shea, or Sumati, or Maggie, or anybody else in my class. Hobgood graduated. But that's all I can think of. After the movie, we went to Showcase North to see Lord of the Rings. Although I was one of the first on the ground, nobody sat next to me. They very kindly kept a one-empty-seat margin around me. Do you feel singled out?

Jon Moussa cracked his head on the side of a car when he slipped and fell on the ice as we were leaving the Academy. I took him back inside so Lamarche and company could ensure he got the medical care he needed. Looked like it would be worth a couple stitches. Good thing I'm not squeamish about blood, because there was a lot of it.

On the other hand, while I was patiently waiting for Frodo and company to get their patootski in gear, I had time to think about how I'm going to deal with my problems about temporal resources I described yesterday. I thought about how I feel now. I don't feel very good about my relationships with people; nobody reallys feels very close to me. I'm always just John, he who you go to when there's nobody else around. Nobody thinks of me as particularly special. So next time I find somebody who thinks that I'm a really special guy, I don't think I'll let go, not willingly. Now that I know what its like to not have somebody and really want one, I can't imagine returning here voluntarily. Parker Effect and all others be damned, I don't care to return to this place if ever I escape.
