[PUBLIC] Shipping Christmas Gifts

This Christmas, like most, I did most of my shopping online. Unfortunately, during the delivery week, I was out of town for three days. Some of them arrived, a few did not, which was somewhat to be expected. Today, I still haven't gotten several of the 2nd Day deliveries, so I checked on the numbers. It turns out that most of them were delivered on Dec 1st and 2nd, while I was gone, but never made it into the pile my neighbors were so polite as to move my packages into while I was gone. As a result, several hundred dollars in merchandise has gone missing, among them every last present for my immediate family. I am holding out hope that one of the other people in my house took them into their apartments to keep them from laying out in the open in the foyer, but that is a fairly long shot.

UPDATE: Having done some digging with my vendor and with UPS, it appears that all the missing packages were delivered on 1 December. Of four packages delivered that day, one made it to me. That leaves three packages, with goods totaling $240.93 missing. I am beginning to suspect that the one I got was placed in the door, while the other three were left on the porch, where perhaps some unscrupulous individual co-opted them.

Interestingly, and ironically, I may have had another incident as I was researching this. Another package is listed as having been delivered at 1118 this morning, but is nowhere to be found. This is becoming a painful holiday season.

Did someone sign for these? If so the shipping company should be able to tell you who...
