Travelin'

So yesterday I flew to Philadelphia so I could drive to Princeton, NJ. I got to Princeton and showed up at the client, only to find out that I wasn't really needed there, and that I really should move on to another client further north. So I kept right on driving. At this point, I didn't know where I was going -- just that I was to proceed up I-287 to Route 17, and get off at the Lake Street exit, then locate the client in "the back of a commerical park". I made it to Ramsey, NJ without incident, but couldn't find the client site, so I parked at the NJ Transit station there, and called for help. Fortunately, I had landed within only a mile or two of my target site, so one of our consultants was able to scramble and fetch me, but in total, I spent 8 hours either on the road or in the air yesterday.

The drives themselves were very good. As I was making my way up I-95N out of Philadelphia, it occured to me that I might be able to see the New Jersey as I drove along the river. As I was thinking that, I looked out my passenger-side window, and lo, there was a battleship completely filling my view. I forgot how big those things were. I only got a chance to see it for about a second before I had to refocus on not taking out the cars around me, but it was a good start to the trip.

Oh, and I saw a new advertisement in TF Green yesterday (well, new to me). It was a municipal ad that said "Despite what you may have been told, you've landed in Warwick, RI". I thought that was amusing.
