Central Time

This morning began at 0300 EDT for me. I specify the timezone because today was one of those days it became relevant. 0500 saw me in at TF Green, waiting to embark on a 700 mile flight to Chicago. It was my first time on a plane since the last FIRST nationals I attended. I sat at a port window as the A319 careened into the sky and whisked me and the other passengers on the packed flight to the Windy City's O'Hare Airport. Once there, I reported for my first day of work at the client site, a day of orientation, wrestling with security clearances, and writing reports. I didn't make it to my hotel until 1930 CDT, 17 very intense hours later. I'm exhausted, and I'm going to sleep the sleep of the dead. Good night.

Ooh, Johnny's job sends him jaunting off to exotic places too. Ok, so maybe Chicage isn't all that exotic, but I bet it pays more and has hot running water. *Hug* Yay for Johnny.

Why are you attending FIRST competitions?

Poorly worded sentence. I was trying to say the last time I was on a plane, I was travelling to a FIRST competition.

Yeah, I assumed that to mean "since 1999 or so".

You got a glowing letter from your client praising you on your first day. Good work!

Career software professional, complete with social and business networking and mobility, a growing skill set, and opportunities on the cutting edge of technological capitalism. It's not for everyone, and not everyone is cut out to do it (me included), and I'm proud of John for his growing success.
