Workplace Violence

Today was... disturbing. I went to Checkerboard, and actually accomplished quite a bit. I was planning on talking to Steve today and getting our problem sorted out, but I didn't find the time in the morning, and in the afternoon I started to get worried. He brought an add for a security company in and posted it on the comic board. It had an anecdote on it about disgruntled employees who return to devastate their former offices. It made me wonder if Steve was contemplating such an action. It did not help that he and Brian were laughing about it all afternoon. Such conversations make me uncomfortable, especially given the latest developments. I talked with Lonna about the Steve issue today. She told me that Steve really, truly hates me. Apparently I have a terrible effect on his self-esteem. He doesn't even let Lonna mention my name when they are hanging out. It seems a shame to me that that is the case, but its his game. She told me not to worry about Steve, that he wouldn't take violent action against anybody, and this was just his way of dealing with stress. She said she was surprised he actually spoke up. I took a stroll up the hill today, but when I neared the Parker residence, a dog (whom I can only assume was the unflappable Nova), began barking viciously at me from a concealed location. I've often wondered if the dog would back off if I held my ground against it, but it does put on a good show, and I was not inclined to challenge it tonight. So I did a direct abort and returned home. So in the final analysis, I ended up watching some of my Nadesico DVD's tonight. They were actually quite a good investment. I am very pleased.
