Well, I decoded the hex, but I have work to do, so I didn't want to do the character transaction now...

Just to prevent people barking up the wrong tree, I feel it necessary to point out that the message does not translate into

For example, the first character, 0x42, translates to B. O is 0x4F. How did you go about translating this?

Whoops. That was part of my deciphering... It looked Englishy, so I tried rot13ing it. I accidently copy/pasted the rot13 of the hex instead of the original.

The original is:
Bnumlna, dsuf xi lay dxpcetv ssk gnd. W'c fhn orpd J viwovcbvj rleutl uiuymcy vr xusdn etvg eew, wqq hf urqjhvlh oarg, Z'ef cbr ogh sk zqvzwq ftfcsvyhakr cjrkiwy iwn aa ie ehlz flsesgvxntn yeklysh. It still does look Englishy, but I don't think that a simple substitution decodes it. Probably a rotating k to add to each character or something. (I'm assuming that you made this somewhat solvable, and you didn't just give us random gibberish to decode. But you might be that evil, too.) I'll look into it more when I get home if it hasn't been decoded by someone else by then.

Indeed he did. I had converted it to all caps to make the translation a little easier. I guess he needn't wonder whether that cipher was too hard after all. :)

Vigenère squares are handy like that. Onward, to more interesting puzzles.
