Another day, another month, another year. This year I spent New Years Eve with Kate. We rented American Pie, and bought Dogma on DVD. I've never been a huge Kevin Smith fan, but the later film was pretty good.

Per the suggestion of shogunhb, I've begun reading The Amber Chronicles, which are amusing at the very least, although I've only plunged perhaps fifty pages into a tome that contains two dozen times that number atop it. I also cleared out my WPI UNIX account, so I would have a record of all my files as they existed shortly before the account was deleted.

Tonight, I sleep.

Current Mood: okay okay

That "okay" icon doesn't look so okay, for some reason.

Happy New Year.

Heh, I read the Amber Chronicles. I think it was MarkMoz who got me into them. Didn't read the second half until I got to California. Those books can be hard to find.

Cool ideas mixed with so-so fantasy mixed with misplaced gratuity == popular fantasy series. I donated my books to the SFS as my membership fee.

Shit, man. Despite Freespace 2 having received a second publishing as a "Game of the Year" edition, it's still rare. It's a 5-year old game, and people want $70 fricking bucks for it. You have a copy you wanna sell? :) It's for my old man. And don't worry, I haven't forgotten my other debts. Workin' full time now, though, so I should be able to pay you back right and proper wery soon.

Well, I just made it through the first book, and tonight I'm beginning the Guns of Avalon, which I suspect is either a takeoff of The Guns of Navarone or The Guns of August, I'll have to find out if and which. In any event, to help you in your noble and holy crusade to give the gift of War in Space this holiday season, SchoolPop.com has Descent Freespace 2 in stock and on sale. When in doubt, go for the educational stores. Because, you know, Freespace 2 teaches you to, er... give me a minute on this one....

Holy crap, that poor bastard who just got FreeSpace2 on E-Bay for $75 would be gritting his teeth with envy. I just had to donate $4 to Worcester Voc to get the $15 deal. You rock, John. Hell, if I were you, I'd buy a copy and sell it on E-Bay. :)
