The Spiral

So yesterday kgola and I made it through to Worcester just fine. I ended up having to park at Price Chopper due to the congestion around WPI and the fact the quad lot was closed. The graduation ceremony itself was brutally cold, but I was able to grit my teeth and bear it through the three hours of wind and mist. Shortly after we got seated, kgola found Will and secured a ride back to New York with him, freeing me up to stay in Worcester that night.

After mingling at the reception in the Campus Center, I received a call from Casey, whom I haven't seen since she left for London at the beginning of D-Term. I excused myself from the celebration in the Odeum and spent a few hours with her. It was good. After I left her company, I couldn't find anybody from the WPI crew about, so I went home to catch a nap before driving to Providence. That proved to be a good move. I set out for TF Green around 2100, and arrived there about 2200. rgfgompei's plane arrived a few minutes early, so I picked her up from the airport, we went to the baggage claim and... nothing.

Damn.

It turns out her luggage took a wrong turn at Kansas City, and missed the flight. Fortunately, it had remembered its third grade teacher telling it not to panic if that happens, but to remain calm and follow its owner as quickly as possible. As a result, her luggage arrive about 90 minutes later. Owner and baggage were reunited, and all was good. So at 0000, we set out to return to Worcester.

In an uncharacteristic style, I drove very leisurely back from the airport to Wormtown, and made the run in just under 60 minutes. Around 0100 we arrived back at her home, where her mother was very happy to see her (they hadn't seen each other since I had picked up rgfgompei to drive her to Logan four months earlier). I drove back to my mother's after that, and finally hit the hay. Today I am in Worcester, debating whether I should drive home this morning, or wait around and see if anything happens in the early afternoon. Decisions, decisions....

Current Mood: thoughtful thoughtful

I'm up for something if you're still in this state.
