[PUBLIC] And on the 75th Day, He Rested

Today is a good day. Last night, for the first time since May, I went to sleep without setting an alarm or monitoring software, and slept until I woke up naturally. A marvelous day, indeed.

I also went and got brunch with Bernie and Marissa. Joesph's II has good food and is cheap, but it is small and crowded. Wilson's food quality varies wildly every time I go there. I really need to find a place in Waltham to do brunch that has good food and isn't too busy on Sunday mornings. Is that so much to ask?

Now I'm waiting for my flight in the Red Carpet Club at BOS, seeing as my flight has been delayed over an hour. I'm working on the third book of Weber's Honor Harrington series, which I've greatly enjoyed so far. Perhaps one day I'll continue of Song of Ice and Fire, but right now this series is so much easier to feel like I'm making progress in.

Unfortunately, yeah. You're mostly either going to get so-so quality, but not all that busy (Wilson's Diner), or better stuff but everyone and their mom goes there (Joseph's II).There's also a Friendly's over on Totten Pond I think, which I'd put as middle-of-the-road in both of those categories... I can't think of any other places.

I've heard good things about a few places in Cambridge (Tavern on the Square, for instance), but if your goal is "walkable or a 5 minute drive", that won't do.

Have you tried: http://www.in-a-pickle.com/

I've heard they are good, but not living in Waltham, I have not personally been there yet. It seems to have all the things you want though. It may still be crowded but from what I've heard it's not as bad as Josephs.

The menu looks like the breakfast-and-lunch place at the first floor of the office building I work at, which makes me think that it more expects the "grab-and-go" crowd. Then again, not being in Boston, it has less of a reason to be that small.

(The webpage, on the other hand, is an abomination before the Lord, but that's another story...)

I actually walk past it on the way to Joesph's. They generally speaking have a line out the door and down the sidewalk.

Late to the conversation, but let me put Arcadia Restaurant on your radar. Excellent food, even better prices. It's on Main St. next to Beijing Star, across from Hannaford's, under the blue and white awning.
