[PUBLIC] Dispatches from Room 105

Two interesting things happened today.

  1. At 0754, on the way to work, my car rolled over 20,000 miles, on Day 504.
  2. AT&T Fraud informed me that my Mastercard has been in use in Mexico for the past 2 days, and after clearing up the relevant annoyances, I am now without my favorite piece of plastic for 7-10 days and have to update all my auto-pays. Argh. Fortunately, my Corporate card has an escape clause for just this situation.

When my purse was stolen I had to cancel all my cards and I had no cash or ID. For a while I thought I had no way to access my money at all, until I remembered that I had my passport at home. Now I keep credit cards in 2 locations. Of course that doesn't help with your kind of fraud. At least someone caught it early and contacted you.

I'm surprised that they're taking that long to replace it.

I also find it interesting how they discovered that the use was fraudulant, when you do so much international traveling.

Yay for car! It seems to be treating you well.

The Mastercard thing is lame. Last time I had a credit card problem, AmEx did a fantastic job, sending a replacement card overnight. Visa had about the same replacement time as you're quoting for Mastercard.
