“August 14th, 2006 -- 0552 hours
I-290 about 6 minutes out of T.F. Green International Airport

The first time that I missed my flight as a consultant just happened. I am currently heading away from the airport. I showed up for my flight about 45 minutes early, spent 45 minutes waiting in the check-in line, and then was turned away. I got my flight rebooked fortunately at apparently no extra charge for this afternoon, but it means that I will miss the full day of work on-site. I guess I don't really feel /bad/ about missing my flight since I showed up and just... wasn't able to get through the check-in line at Continental fast enough to actually get through the security checkpoint before the flight left, but it's still an annoyance to me professionally to have missed the flight I was supposed to make to Omaha this morning. Now, such is life.
In any event, it means I'll be working from home today, and I have to catch my now 16:17 flight to Detroit so that I can continue on to Omaha. Well, I guess this was bound to happen eventually. I guess I should be glad that it happened after about 18 months of doing this. Hopefully it won't happen again anytime soon.”

We have a policy that we have to be at least 2 hours early for our flights, in case of security issues. I was annoyed with it until I showed up one day, ironically before this whole new terrorist thing happened, and had to run to catch my flight after going through security.

I'm sure you're not the only one.
