Cars

Went to see Cars with royal_rooter tonight at Showcase North. The movie was quite good, definitely up to Pixar's technical standards. It lacked the constant slapstick humor of some of the studio's previous offerings, but still was a great movie for Good Guy Does The Right Thing And Gets The Girl, While The Villian Is Foiled, my favorite kind. Exiting the theatre I was met with nerdx111 and what people he was able to round up to try, in the most uncreative terms possible, to return the favor for some past imagined wrong. Suffice it to say, the score is still Bronzite 2, XIV 0.

re: Cars

I dunno, I found the plot to be unsatisfactorially straightforward going in, not up to Pixar's usual standards.

Re: Cars

I suppose. I prefer my movies to be straight-forward affairs with good writing rather than twisting plots. Twisting plots, to my mind, are for longer productions, such as series or novels.

Re: Cars

I don't mind plots that are completely linear. This movie's plot was completely predictable, and that was lame.
