eBay Amusement

I love random auctioneers on eBay who ship whatever the factories of Taiwan and China popped out this morning. Their hasty construction of elements of other nation's popular culture results in some really, really amusing mistakes. Take this auction for example, where the seller in question has apparently assembled an example model to demonstrate his ware. The astute observer and Star Trek fan will observe something amiss with this design, even if one does recognize the All Good Things revision of the Enterprise.

I am reminded of a set of DVDs some of my friends bought off of eBay. It claimed to be all of Deep Space 9 for $100, but the box said something like "HHE COMPLETE SECONE SEASON" on it, all the episodes were obviously VCR recordings, and the middle 4 episodes of an 8-episode story arc somewhere in there were replaced by some Next Generation episodes.

The wrong letter's bad 'n' all, but the backward nacelles make me want to smash things.

Oh, my shame. Was that the D in All Good Things? I fail.

Well, the three nacelles part was, yes, but not the backwardness. Also, in All Good Things the saucer section had a BFG-style phaser cannon of death, which appears to be missing from this design.
