Navy Pier

Last night I went to Navy Pier with my coworkers for dinner at a restaurant named RIVA. The cuisine was excellent but outstandingly pricey seafood. When we were done the price tag was well on the far side of $600 for eight people. Thank god for T&E. The Pier itself is very impressive, with ground and nautical traffic constantly coming and going. I also saw the two most enormous private yachts I've ever seen cruise into dock through the restaurant windows. One of them was a six-story, 400-foot leviathan. I bet that gets lousy mileage. I wonder when we'll start seeing reactors on private vessels?

You mean, your company has no qualms about paying $75 per person on one meal? Yikes.

And I think it'll be quite a while yet before we see private reactors on vessels... I think private spacecraft (and "cruises to the moon" and whatnot) will happen first. But it might happen within our lifetime.

the company gets to deduct it from their expenses in turn. So it winds up not being much of anything to them either.
